Legalities:-
In India the gambling is not a central topic it is considered as a state subject and the formulation of laws regarding gambling is a matter of state concern not the central concern.
As per the Public Gambling act 1867 it has been considered illegal to run a gambling house or being in charge of running a gambling house. There are strict laws for gambling and anyone being accused of breaking such laws will be charged a fine of Rs. 200 and imprisonment for 3 years.
The act is not limited as it even prohibits visitors visiting such gambling houses and if found accused of being into such houses then that person will be liable for imprisonment up to one month and fine of Rs. 100.
There are only three states in India where gambling houses or gambling is permitted and these three states are Goa, Sikkim and Daman.
As per the Goa, Daman and Diu public gambling act 1976 the casinos are only allowed at five star hotels in these states or either at offshore or sea areas.
There are no federal laws in India which prohibits online gambling or betting in our country.
Although there are strict laws in India regarding gambling , there is news from different states of Gambling being played and illegal gambling houses running every year.
Currently, our ICC, which is the Indian cricket council, has passed a statement that he is in favor of getting the betting system legalized.
