Ingredients required:

  1. For milk paste:

  • 1 Pack Instant Rise Yeast
  1. For filling:
  • 1 Cup Ube Halaya
  • 16 Small cubes of Cheese
  1. For coating: 
  • Bread Crumbs

Method of preparation: 

  1. Preparing the dough: 

Cook 20gms of bread flour with a half cup of whole milk. Make sure to cook it over medium-low or medium heat to obtain a paste-like consistency. Keep it aside.In another bowl, add instant rise yeast, sugar, and kosher salt to bread flour. Whisk the roux paste with a half cup of evaporated milk, one egg, and ¼ cup of ube powder. Add this roux blend to the bread flour. Consolidate every one of these ingredients in a standing mixer at low speed. Add a little bit of softened butter at a time once the ingredients are well consolidated. Increase the mixer speed to level 4 to integrate the butter well. Mix the dough for roughly 8 minutes at level 4 speed. Do the stretch test to check if the batter is ready to prepare pandesal. The batter is ready if it only stretches but doesn’t tear. Keep them in your pre-lubed bakeware, cover with a kitchen towel, and set them back in the broiler with lights on for 30 minutes. Following 30 minutes, remove the buns from the oven.
